BrainWing: Use of Drones in Commercial Applications in the Current Age of Automation

Mohit Gurjar, Founder & CEO

As countries across the world get ready to integrate automation, artificial intelligence, and robotics into their economies, the global market for commercial drones is projected to reach USD 14.3 billion by 2024. Commercial drones include superior 3D mapping & image capture capabilities; productivity enhancements for businesses; and reduced need for manned high risk missions. Passionate about RC machines and Films, Mumbai headquartered BrainWing provides services to various industries such as Mapping, Surveillance, Inspections, Films, Television, and Real Estate, etc. The company’s premium clients are Ministry of Railways, Irrigation Department of Maharashtra, and Prime Minister’s Office Media Team, Border Roads Organization (BRO), Uttarakhand Government and more. BrainWing are drone makers, mappers, manipulators and film makers.

Scope of Drones in Business Operations
Hailing from robotics and aeromodeling background, every member of the BrainWing’s team is an expert in physics and electronics; the science behind designing drones. Currently the team is focused on Aerial Mapping & Surveillance, Aerial inspections, Aerial Data Processing, Custom Drone Solutions for military purpose, Agricultural Drones and Film making drones. “We have made drones that can lift a payload of up to 60kg for 15 minutes or a drone with endurance up to 120 minutes with technical range of 15km”, claims Mohit Gurjar, CEO, BrainWing.
The company has also designed in-house VTOL drones (Vertical Take off and Landings) for mapping applications to cover more area in short duration and avoid the hassle of landing where the area is not accessible or have uneven terrain. BrainWing deployed their drones for a project in irrigation department, where in the company’s team members mapped more than 2000 sqkm area to help the department to analyze and accordingly plan new canals to reach out to the drought hit areas. BrainWing used high definition 2D ortho photo of the total area to suggest new developments, and understand the changes in the city planning based on previous maps or data. BrainWing has also worked for central government campaigns like Swach Bharat, Namami Gange and many more. Their other private clients are production houses like Phantom Films, and Salman Khan Films etc. Beside this, BrainWing has also made drones with an up-mounted camera to capture the images below the bridge for its inspection.

Additionally, to cater few more crucial demands, BrainWing has agricultural drones with pesticide spraying capacities of 5L, 10L and 15L. Agricultural drone includes two kinds of drones; drones equipped with smart sensors to fly in a certain path to spray the pesticides in the most optimum way and avoid obstructions in their paths. And the other kind facilitates multi spectral cameras to map & survey a field and provide highly accurate NDVI outputs. These drones help to identify the condition of crops and manage accordingly. BrainWing’s team is always researching for better variation in drones and is open to any requirement from customers in terms of practically designing a drone.

Having executed more than 300successful projects, BrainWing has an in-house team of 8 young and talented engineers with extreme determination and passion for Drones and Radio Controlled Robotics. The company focuses equally on product development and provides quality services within drone solutions which can also be used for military purposes. BrainWing focuses on upgrading latest equipments with a talented team and great backend support. More so, the company will continue to on board clients from films and television industry, mapping & surveillance and other applications.
